Doors are locked at sundown.
No one walks alone.
And the dead will not stay buried.
A desperate plea pulls the party to Klatzen, an isolated town where fear has replaced reason. People have been vanishing, one by one, and the townsfolk have a name for what takes them: Die Greifer. The Taker. An unseen thing that moves through the dark and leaves nothing behind.
The truth is worse. Beneath Klatzen's streets, in the crypts where the dead are supposed to rest, something has been stirring. Someone opened a forbidden tome. Someone attempted a ritual they didn't fully understand. By the time the PCs arrive, the ritual is complete.
The missing are beyond saving. The dead will not stay buried. The only question left is whether the PCs make it out before they join them.
The Horrid Deed in Every Eye is a mystery-first adventure built for one to two sessions. The horror starts before the first combat. Klatzen keeps its secrets until the PCs earn them, and what they find beneath the town is not something that can be reasoned with.
