The Devil Came to
Birronia

The Adventure

A little girl comes out of her bedroom at night
and tells her parents simply that,
“The Devil Came to Birronia.”

She wasn’t the last. The next night, another child said the same thing. Then another. By the time the PCs arrive, children are disappearing from their beds, and the town is beginning to understand that the warning was not a dream.

“When the toys started moving, the parents started dying.”

The murders are precise and vicious, carried out by the missing children’s own toys. Something evil is animating them, and this fuels the rumors that it has finally returned. Local legend gives it a name: The Devil. A creature that feeds on innocence. It has done this before, and once reduced an entire town to silence and did not stop until there was nothing left to take.

The PCs must face it in the city of Birronia, but first they are surrounded by dozens of animated toys who attack with pure malice and hatred. The inhumanly large creature escapes into the dark before the PCs can finish it. What it leaves behind is a trail, and the trail leads out of town to a ruined monastery where something that was once a monk has made its home.

The Devil Came to Birronia is a horror adventure built on dread that arrives quietly at first: one child, one warning, before it becomes something your players won’t be able to look away from.

What's Inside
Setting Birronia, a city that knows the legend of Drazkova, the town The Devil erased over a century ago. The children’s rhyme still gets sung here. The cobblestones still echo at night. And now a little girl has walked into her parents’ room with a rag doll and a warning.
The Mystery Three nights, three children, and the same words. Then the disappearances and the moving toys, with the PCs racing to follow the trail before it goes cold.
The Threat The disgraced monk who was burned at the stake, cursed, and returned as something spindly and clawed with a crown of black thorns, feeding on innocence for over a century.
The Question Can the PCs end what the burning stake couldn’t, before Birronia goes silent like Drazkova?
Encounters 3 encounters: a horde of demonic animated toys, a blight of roots and vines corrupted by The Devil’s mere presence, and a final confrontation with The Devil itself deep in its ruined monastery lair
Compatibility Fully compatible with D&D 5e and 5.5e. Built for level 3–4 characters
